Another year of excellent results – particularly – the number of students achieving the highest grades in Maths and Further Maths –which again, is a reflection of the students’ sustained work ethos and positive attitude to learning. The students of STMLC are therefore celebrating excellent GCSE results across all subjects, having achieved or exceeded their potential allowing them to progress further in their post 16 studies. We are particularly pleased with the majority of the students achieving the A*-C equivalence in both English and Maths. It was wonderful to share the excitement with the students in the presence of a number of DfE and LA officers, including the new Minister for School Standards – Catherine McKinnell, as they opened their results especially given the circumstances of the pandemic and the disruption to their learning. As in previous years these students have lived out St Thomas More’s motto: ‘Serving God, Striving for Excellence’, supported by positive staff, student and parental collaboration.”
